The 2nd ACSTHB 2023

Department of Tourism, Faculty of Tourism & Hospitality, Padang State University (UNP) successfully held the 2nd International Conference “The 2nd Annual Conference of Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Business” with the topic “High Tech and High Touch Innovation in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Business” in UNP Hotel & Convention Center Ballroom on Tuesday, November 7 2023.  

The event was officially opened by the Deputy Governor of West Sumatra, Dr. Ir. Audy Joinaldy, S.Pt., M.Sc., MM, IPM, ASEAN.Eng. Datuak Rajo Pasisia Alam, and followed by an activity report from the chairman of the Committee, Hijriantomi Suyuthie, S. Ip., MM.

Then the event continued with the signing of the MoU between Padang State University and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Indonesia Chapter, as well as the signing of the MoA between the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Indonesia Chapter.

This conference presented Associate Prof. Rahmat bin Hashim, from Taylor’s University Malaysia, Madam Ningsih A. Chandra, representative from the PATA Indonesia Chapter, and Dr. Jennifer Loverio from the University of the Philippines Diliman. 

There were 55 scientific papers from 150 conference participants from within and outside the country. This conference received great attention from students, lecturers, practitioners and academics in the tourism and hospitality industry.
